CASED COLT MODEL 1849 POCKET REVOLVER. SN 181312, all matching. Cal. .31. 6″ oct. bbl, 5-shot. 2-line Hartford address with dashes at each end. In a French recessed case with double-sided “E. PLURIBUS UNUM” flask, brass bullet mold and Winchester cap tin. The case does not appear to be as old as the gun, possibly contemporary. CONDITION: Brilliant case hardening colors on the sides of the frame, hammer and loading lever, fading on the recoil shield in front of the loading lever. Traces of blue on the bbl, 20% on the cylinder with sharp cylinder scene, 80% silver on backstrap and trigger guard. The flask is worn and dented, the bullet mold is missing the sprue cutter screw and is battered. The outside of the case has been refinished. The interior lining appears old and dirty. 4-46833 FS3 (3,000-5,000)
