SCARCE HIGH ART H.A. LINDER MADE CHARLES DALY DIAMOND QUALITY SHOTGUN.SN 1248. Cal. 12ga. 30″ Excelsior steel bbls. 2-3/4″ chambers. Choked Full/Full. Full length matted top rib with ivory mid and front bead inlaid in gold “Charles Daly Diamond Quality”. Bbls marked on tops “Excelsior Whitten/Steel” in fancy circular and scroll pattern. Breech end of bbls with deep cut floral and scroll engraving. Checkered dbl triggers. Auto ejectors and safety. Bbl flats are stamped with Linder’s “H.A.L./crossed pistols” maker’s mark. Full knob pistol grip buttstock checkered in two point pattern with checkered side panels, gold monogram initialed “LT” in grip and vacant gold shield near toe. 14-1/4″ LOP over Pachmayr white line solid pad. Splinter forearm with Deely release checkered in three point pattern with small horn tip. Receiver is full coverage engraved in beautiful deep cut floral scroll. Gold inlaid pheasants on left, gold quail on right, gold roosting turkey on bottom, and two gold quail on trigger guard. Fences with deep cut sculpting and floral engraving with side clips. “Safe” in gold on top tang in front of safety. Cocking indicators on top of frame. Weight: 7 lbs. 7 oz. Bbls retain 85% orig blued finish with thinning at grip. Buttstock and forearm have been expertly restored and retain 90% restored finish with minor handling marks. There are a couple of minute grain separations around frame. Receiver is silvered with a hint or two of orig case color in protected areas only. Mechanics are crisp.
