HANDEL REVERSE PAINTED TABLE LAMP.

Handel table lamp has octagonal shaped shade with vertical ribbing and has reverse painted decoration of a blackberry vine encircling the skirt and shoulder of shade. Decoration includes blackberries, flowers and multi-colored leaves all set against orange shading to yellow background. Exterior is finished in chipped ice. Signed on interior rim “Handel 6735” with artist initial “F”. Shade rests on an original Handel base with 4-prong foot with slightly bulbous body terminated into four incorporated handles. Vertically ribbed riser supports three socket cluster as well as pierced heat cap and decorative finial. Base is finished in rich reddish-brown patina and is signed on side of foot in impressed block letters “Handel”. SIZE: Shade is 16″ dia. Lamp is 25″ t. PROVENANCE: From the Unreserved Collection of Dr. & Mrs. Brian Bojesen. CONDITION: Shade is very good to excellent with some very minor roughness to bottom rim. Base is very good to excellent with some minor wear to finish. Re-wired with appropriate cloth cord. 50361-14 (1,500-2,500) – Lot 1321
