*COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER WITH CHECKERED HARD RUBBER GRIPS.

SN 352991. Cal. 38 WCF. 5-1/2″ bbl, blue and case color finish. Checkered hard rubber grips with Colt medallion. Bbl has 1-line address on top and cal mark on left side. Front sight is high profile and thick. Frame has patent mark stamp on forward left side with Rampant Colt logo in a circle to the right. Loading gate and right rear of frame has assembly number 1000 stamped. SN matches on frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Last 2 digits of SN stamped on rear face of cyl. Full SN is scratched on inside of each grip. “VP” proof with assembler number “1” is stamped on forward left bow of trigger guard. Accompanied by a Colt Factory Letter confirming all of the features and showing shipment to Stauffer Eshleman and Company, New Orleans, LA, on June 3, 1929 in a one gun shipment. PROVENANCE: The Brad Shepherd Collection. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl retains 50-60% orig blue finish with most of the wear on the left side which is slightly blotched, blending with a plum/brown patina. Bbl markings are sharp. Front sight has been slightly trimmed. Bore is frosty with sharp rifling. Frame retains 20-30% case color that blends into a pleasing plum/brown patina with some vivid color in the gullets and front of cyl. Hammer retains generous traces of case color. Patent mark is sharp. Screws retain almost all of the orig blue finish. Trigger guard retains 60-70% orig blue finish with some high point wear, balance turning plum/brown patina mainly on forestrap. Trigger retains generous traces of fire blue. Backstrap retains 20% blue, mainly on apron with the balance being plum/brown patina. SNs are sharp.
