*COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER WITH CHECKERED HARD RUBBER GRIPS.

SN 342736. Cal .38 WCF, 5-1/2″ bbl, blue and case color finish, checkered hard rubber grips with Colt medallions. Bbl has standard 1-line address with cal mark on left side. Front sight is of the high thick type. Frame has 2-line patent mark on forward left side with rampant Colt logo without circle to the right. Trigger guard has “VP” proof on forward left side of trigger guard bow with assembler no. 3 stamped above. SN matches on frame, trigger guard, and backstrap. Last 2 digits of SN is stamped on rear face of cyl. Full SN is scratched on inside of each grip. Hammer has fine knurling. Accompanied by a Colt factory letter confirming cal, bbl length, and finish, with stocks not listed and showing shipment to Schmelzer Arms Company, Kansas City, Missouri on October 12, 1921 in a 2 gun shipment. PROVENANCE: The Brad Shepherd Collection. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbl retains 95% bright blue finish with wear toward the left side of muzzle. Bbl markings are sharp. Bore is bright with strong rifling. Frame retains 60-70% case color with some vivid color on left side in gullet in front of cyl. Trigger guard retains 90% bright blue, drifting to a plumb brown patina on the forestrap. Backstrap retains 50% bright blue, especially on the apron, drifting to a pleasing plum brown patina. Hammer retains 80-90% case color with only slight scratch marks on the side. Trigger retains 90% blue finish. Screws also retain almost all of their blue finish. SN’s are sharp. Cyl retains 90% blue with some scratch marks on the rear periphery near bolt stocks and high-point wear on the front. Chambers are clean. 50062-23 TEP C&R (3,000-5,000) – Lot 1314
