*EXCEPTIONALLY RARE EARLY PERAZZI DHO SIDE BY SIDE SIDELOCK EJECTOR SINGLE TRIGGER HEAVY GAME SHOTGUN WITH FULL RELIEF SCROLL AND GAME SCENES BY GALEAZZI WITH CASE.

SN 5462. (1969) Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4″ Chambers. 28″ Chopper lump bbls with flat matted game rib are stamped with 1969 Italian nitro proofs on flats, along with early Perazzi markings “map”. Coin finished side by side sidelock action features non-automatic safety (SECURA engraved) and single non-selective trigger. Water table is stamped with SN, grade, and gold Perazzi logo (map). Action and lockplates are engraved in full relief with exceptionally well done large acanthus scroll with stippled background. Scroll offsets relief engraved water fowl scenes with bottom of action portraying a pair of ducks settling into marsh with cattails; 5 ducks take wing from what is likely the same marsh on left lockplate, with another similar scene on right lockplate. This work is very similar in style and execution to a gun engraved by F. Galeazzi, pictured as color plate xxxvi on p. 161 of MODERN FIREARM ENGRAVINGS by Mario Abbiatico. Blued trigger guard is engraved in the same style as action. SN is at grip. Well marbled and stump figured European walnut straight grip buttstock measures 14-1/4″ over fully checkered wood butt. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching splinter ejector forend has Anson release. Bore diameter: left -.725, right – .725. Bore restrictions: left – .028 (mod), right – .021 (lt mod). Drop at heel: 1-15/16″, drop at comb: 1-7/16″. Cast is 1/4″ off. Weight: 7 lbs. 0 oz. LOP: 14-1/4″. Gun is stored in a black ABS Perazzi marked case with reddish foam interior. CONDITION: Excellent, very near to new, with scant evidence of firing, and only a few very light handling and assembly marks on wood and metal. Mechanically excellent. Case is good. An early gun embellished by a highly regarded Italian engraver. 51448-4 MGM138 (40,000-60,000) – Lot 1310
