*FINE AND RARE PRE-WWII COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY REVOLVER.

SN 355411. Cal. 357 Mag. Blue and color case hardened with 5-1/2″ bbl, full front sight and 1-line block letter address with model and cal marking on left side. Left side of frame is marked with 2-line 3 patent dates and Rampant Colt without circle. Mounted with 1st Generation Rampant Colt hard rubber grips. According to Colt Peacemaker Encyclopedia, Cochran, of the more than 357,000 single action revolvers produced only 525 were chambered for 357 Magnum. PROVENANCE: The Brad Shepherd Collection. CONDITION: Very fine to extremely fine, all matching except grips which are unnumbered. Bbl retains 97-98% strong orig blue and the frame most of its orig case colors, brilliant in sheltered areas, faded elsewhere. Cyl retains about 98% glossy orig blue and grip frame about 95% orig blue, slightly thinned on front and back straps. Hammer retains bright blue on the top and rear edges, factory polished bright on the sides. Grips are sound, showing minute diamond point wear, turned a little chocolate on the right side.
