SPLENDID WESTLEY RICHARDS BAR IN WOOD (CRAB JOINT) HAMMER GUN.SN 11832. Cal. 12 ga. 2-3/4″ Cham. Recent nitro proofs. 30″ browned Damascus bbls are engraved with Westley Richards name and Bond Street address on smooth concave game rib. Doll’s head extension. Bar in wood type action w/ Westley Richards patent camming top lever. Bar action locks with unique serpentine dolphin hammers of pinfire form. Locks and action are engraved in medium shaded scroll. Nicely figured European walnut splinter forend w/horn tip, straight grip, drop points, point pattern checkering, 13-5/8″ to smooth steel buttplate. CONDITION: Very Fine. Retains most of its original London finish. Barrels have light scattered oxidation and handling marks with strong damascus pattern. Locks with strong original case colors, hammers starting to fade. Wood is sound with light service marks and retains most of its original varnish. Trigger bow and buttplate with much orig blue.
