WEDGWOOD FAIRYLAND LUSTRE CASTLE ON A ROAD BOWL.

Fairyland Lustre octagonal bowl has exterior decoration in the Castle on a Road pattern with each panel showing a view of a castle on a road. Each panel is outlined in black and is backed by a dark blue sky. Interior of the bowl is decorated with Fairy in a Cage pattern showing a riverside scene with numerous imps and fairies and other creatures along the riverbank with a large pagoda type building in the distance and a gilded cage hanging from the lip of the bowl with a fairy inside. Pattern is set against a daylight sky. Bottom of the bowl is decorated with gilded outline of two fairies against a mottled purple background with cobble bead border. Signed on the underside with a gold Portland vase mark, “Wedgwood Made in England”, “Z5125″ as well as a Issod Collection paper label. SIZE: 9-1/2” dia. PROVENANCE: Betty & Leonard Issod Collection.
