CHARLES WELLINGTON FURLONG (American, 1874-1967) “YAUGAN INDIANS IN A DUGOUT”.

Oil on canvas Housed in regilt wood frame Signed lower left “Charles W Furlong” and dated indistinctly NOTE: Furlong studied the now extinct Yougan’s on a major expedition to Tierra del Fuego, around 1900. The painting is illustrated in an article titled “The Southern Most People of the World” by Charles Wellington Furlong on page 128 of Harper’s Monthly Magazine June 1909 A copy of Harper’s Monthly magazine accompanies the painting SIZE: 24″ x 16″.
