EXCEPTIONAL COPY OF COLT 1851 NAVY.

SN 1531. Cal. 36. A near duplicate copy of a Colt 1851 Navy with 7-1/2″ oct bbl, brass front sight, no bbl address, 6-shot cylinder without scene. Left side of trigger plate marked “.36 Cal”. Brass trigger guard and backstrap. 1-pc walnut grips. Marked on butt with SN and “BH”. PROVENANCE: The Estate of G. W. “Bill” Stewart of Sonora, Texas. CONDITION: Very good. Retains a smooth even light brown patina throughout with a couple of small areas of minor corrosion. Butt with minor battering marks. Cylinder does not appear to have ever been rolled with a cylinder scene. Grips are very good and fit very well with some added varnish and handling marks. Mechanics are crisp, bore is good with orange peel. An extremely good Colt copy which could easily fool a casual Colt observer. 49973-171 JSL82 (300-500) – Lot 1255
