EXTREMELY RARE COLT 1860 ARMY WITH TWO DIGIT SERIAL NUMBER AND NAVY SIZED GRIP.

SN 47. Cal. 44. Scarce orig 7-1/2″ bbl now 7-1/4″ set back at forcing cone. Forcing cone and barrel lug have been slightly trimmed, as has arbor and has a threaded plug to adjust the bbl tightness- all done likely during the period of use. German silver front blade sight. Hartford bbl address, rebated cylinder, frame marked on left side “Colt’s Patent”. Brass trigger guard in back strap, 1-pc walnut grip in rare Navy size. 3-screw frame. PROVENANCE: The Estate of G. W. “Bill” Stewart of Sonora, Texas. CONDITION: Good. Metal surfaces retain an even brown patina with light corrosion an handling marks. Cylinder with a couple of areas of deeper pitting. Front blade sight about 1/2 height. Bbl address sparsely visible. Grips are good with minor losses and finish added during period of use.
