TWO 1890S ERA CLOSED MOUTH GERMAN DOLLS.

The doll in white coat is incised “S8H 949” with open crown, blue paperweight eyes, closed mouth, mounted on separate bisque shoulder plate which is glued to a white kid body with bisque forearms. The doll in blue and white dress is incised “204”, (attributed to Baehr & Proschild), with “Belton” type stringing on head, closed mouth, brown inset glass eyes, on a distinctive wood and composition body with straight wrists. SIZE: S&H: 16″ t (41cm). 204: 16-1/2″ t (42cm). PROVENANCE: The Madelyn Trotter Collection. CONDITION: Overall good, however S&H doll has a fracture to the left glass eye. 1-14412, 1-14459 (700-900) – Lot 1221
