RARE AND FINE EARLY 2ND MODEL COLT 1851 NAVY REVOLVER.

SN 2391. Cal. 36. Fine 100% original complete, authentic and all matching 2nd Model Colt Navy made in first year of production in 1850. Gun retains original finish with bright, crisp markings. Survivors with original condition and great aesthetics of this model are quite rare. PROVENANCE: The Estate of G. W. “Bill” Stewart of Sonora, Texas. CONDITION: All SNs match on this gun including wedge (only has last three digits) and stocks which have inked number in backstrap channel. Bbl retains about 10% bright blue finish, especially in protected areas with balance plum/gray with scattered small blemishes and light pitting as can be seen in photos. Frame, loading assembly and hammer retain hints of muted case colors, overall a smooth silver/gray with scattered light pitting. Cylinder retains traces of blue in protected areas with virtually all of the rolled Naval battle scene visible. Backstrap and trigger guard retain much of their silver plating and the well-fit grips retain about 1/2 of their original varnish. 49973-131 JS (2,500-4,500) – Lot 1208
