*J.P. SAUER & SOHN DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga. Fine wartime production dbl. with 28-1/8″ bbls choked FULL/MOD, 70mm chambers; built in September 1944 with eagle N proofs. It has dbl. lump with Greener cross bolt, box lock receiver marked with the makers name and an eagle on both sides with “SAUER EJECTOR” on the floorplate. Wood is straight grain walnut with splinter forearm and straight stock, 14-1/4″ over a brown waffle pad marked “HOFFMAN SPORTING GOODS/SILVER CITY, N.M.” SN 342971. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain 96-98% original blue, thin over the chamber areas. Receiver retains 75-80% case colors, brilliant in the sheltered areas. Wood is sound and retains most of its original oil finish.
