VERY FINE COLT LONDON MODEL 1849 PERCUSSION REVOLVER.

SN 1331. Cal. 31. Only about 10,000 Colt pockets were made in London and this is a fine example made in 1854 with a 2-line London address with all matching SNs. This complete 100% original and authentic gun retains much of its original finish. PROVENANCE: The Estate of G. W. “Bill” Stewart of Sonora, Texas. CONDITION: Bbl retains about 90% original dark inky blue. Frame, hammer and lever retain dull muted case colors, being mostly overall silver/gray. The cylinder has thin traces of blue, especially in protected areas with virtually all its rolled stagecoach hold up scene visible, all five safety pins are crisp and intact. Trigger guard retains traces of silver. Grips are well-fit retaining most of their original varnish which has become crazed and dull with age. Mechanically gun functions well with bright, crisp bore. 49973-127 JS (1,500-2,500) – Lot 1197
