VERY EARLY TRIGGER OPENING LC SMITH DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga. Bakers patent by LC Smith with 30″ damascus bbls, marked on the top rib “LC SMITH MAKER OF BAKER GUN SYRACUSE N.Y. DAMASCUS STEEL”. Choked IMP-CYL/CYL. Action has a rounded front with flat lightly decorated side locks having a large scallop with smooth long top tang. Marked on each side of the receiver “BAKER PAT”. Wood is nicely grained walnut with checkered black tip splinter forearm and round knob semi-pistol grip stock with smooth steel buttplate. SN 2376. CONDITION: Good, plus. Bbls retain 80-85% silvery-brown damascus pattern with a dent in the left side. Receiver and lockplates retain traces of case colors being mostly faded to silver. Wood is sound and retains a fine hand-worn patina. Strong bright bores with scattered pitting. 4-45972 JR428 (300-500)
