REMINGTON MODEL 1874 DOUBLE BBL SHOTGUN. Cal. 12ga. Unusual lifter action hammer shotgun with 30″ bbls choked FULL/MOD, undecorated with only the makers name on the top rib and patent dates on the sliding breech block. Wood is uncheckered with a wide splinter forearm secured with a single wedge, straight stock with smooth steel buttplate. Top of the wrist has been notched out and a 1/2″ brass plate inlaid. SN 1694. CONDITION: Good, plus. Nice tight action, retains traces of silvered case colors on the lockplates and the opening lever with the balance of the shotgun retaining most of a professional refinish. Bright shiny bores with scattered light pitting. A rare shotgun. 4-45976 JR424 (400-600)
