*WINCHESTER SPECIAL ORDER MODEL 1894 LEVER ACTION RIFLE. Cal. 32-40. Semi-deluxe rifle with 26″ oct. bbl, full magazine, half-nickel front sight with semi-buckhorn rear sight and locking Lyman tang sight. Wood is straight grain walnut with pistol grip stock and nickeled Swiss buttplate. SN 163140. CONDITION: Good to very good. Bbl retains 40-50% plum-blue., Magazine tube 85-90% strong blue. Receiver has traces of blue in the sheltered areas with the balance a silver-gray patina. Forearm has a large groove carved right at the carry point where one’s thumb would rest while carrying, with a small corresponding filed area on the left flat. Pistol grip is missing the cap and the stock has a crack back of the top tang. Otherwise, the wood has been sanded a long time ago removing all the checkering. Buttplate retains 75-80% original nickel. Bright shiny bore. 4-46994 JR380 (800-1,200)
