COLT 3RD MODEL DRAGOON REVOLVER, U.S. ISSUE.

SN 12621. Cal. .44. 7-1/2″ bbl, blue and case colored finish, straight grain walnut grips. Standard markings for this revolver including an “H” inspector’s marks in front of SN on cylinder and right forward side of frame. Matching numbers on bbl, frame, trigger guard, backstrap, cylinder, wedge, rammer, and arbor. Grips were not removed, but appear orig. PROVENANCE: The Dr. Robert G. Cox Estate Collection. CONDITION: Good. This revolver shows a gray-brown patina overall with some roughness and pitting on bbl and some pitting on left side of frame. Bbl address is legible. Colt’s patent over “U.S.” on left side of frame is legible. Cylinder retains 20% of cylinder scene with a readable Colt’s Patent mark. Bore is good with visible gain twist rifling. Bolt screw is broken. Butt screw is a replacement. Grips have been cleaned and show no cartouches. A good example of a Colt Dragoon revolver that saw serious service in the winning of the Old West. 50019-267 TEP (2,500-3,500) – Lot 1177
