SN 16563. Cal. 16ga. Factory marked 2-3/4″ chambers, 26″ bbls with concave matted rib, Bradley type white front bead with metal center bead. Chokes marked MOD/FULL on underside of bbls. This gun has typical Winchester proof marks on bbl flats and “WINCHESTER PROOF STEEL” on underside of both bbls. WINCHESTER -16 GAUGE” marked on left bbl. Winchester patents and address markings with proof mark on water table. Splinter style forend. Model 21 ejector style blued finish action. Winchester slg selective trigger. Straight grip stock on a lovely piece of highly figured walnut with tobacco colored grain and checkered butt. 14-3/8″ LOP. DAC 1-1/2″, DAH 2-1/4. Non-automatic safety. PROVENANCE: The Collection of Jim Beckley. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbls retain approx 85+% of their orig factory finish with slight wear at muzzles. Typical handling marks. Thinning and wear at breech carry area. Bbls ring true. Bores are clean, bright and unpitted. Receiver retains its orig factory blue which shows evidence gentle carry wear. Breech balls have silvered and underside of receiver has gone to a moderate amount of silver along with orig blue. Trigger bow retains orig factory blue which shows slight wear to bow and straight tang area. Screws are excellent. This gorgeous buttstock survives in excellent condition with lovely finish. Mar/dimple on right cheek edge about the size of a pencil eraser. Checkering pattern remains vivid yet somewhat smooth from handling and finish added. Butt checkering is nice, yet somewhat worn. Several minor mars in right side grip checkering with a handful of scuffs on left side toe area of stock. Forend is very nice, checkering is vivid, but shows evidence of finish added. Forend roll type latch retains virtually all blue. Blue loss on corners of forend iron. Screws are excellent and in time. Top lever right of center. Gun is tight and functions crisply.
