TIFFANY STUDIOS GEOMETRIC SHADE ON GRUEBY BASE.

Tiffany Studios geometric leaded shade has nicely mottled pastel yellow panels which glow slightly orange when lit. Leading on shade is finished in a rich brown patina. Signed on the inside edge “Tiffany Studios New York 1493”. Shade rests on a large Grueby pottery base with green glaze and yellow stylized flower buds at the shoulder. Base is mounted with a bronze Tiffany Studios riser and 3 socket cluster and finished with a replacement bronze heat cap. Base is marked on underside with impressed circular mark “Grueby Pottery Boston USA”. Also carries the remnants of an original Grueby Pottery paper label. SIZE: Shade 20-1/2″ dia. Base 23″ t. PROVENANCE: Jean Paul Loup Collection. CONDITION: Shade is very good to excellent with only a few tight hairlines.
