PAIR OF RESTORED COLUMBUS 1¢ GUM VENDORS.

First being an earlier model with wonderful decals & paper label on inside of globe. Inside of globe is a rectangular paper label indicating “Plantation Old Fashioned” and below is the typical Columbus decal which is original. A small original decal above the typical Columbus decal indicates the jobber’s name that sold this machine, “John Goodbody from Rochester, NY”. Decals are in very fine condition overall with a small flake missing from Goodbody decal. Restoration to iron castings and done in appropriate coloring, machine retains two original barrel locks which seems a bit odd as this machine was originally produced 20 years prior to the introduction of these locks. Second machine of later vintage and professionally restored in a metallic silver with new decals. This machine has two original Columbus barrel locks included. Both machines have original globes with embossed Columbus logo on front. SIZE: Approx 16-1/2″ & 13-1/2″ respectively. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carol and Jerry Soling. CONDITION: As described above. 1-14720 (450-650) – Lot 1147
