*WINCHESTER MODEL 1885 HEAVY BARREL HIGH WALL RIFLE WITH BLADE FRONT SIGHT, LADDER REAR SIGHT, DOUBLE SET TRIGGERS, AND SHOTGUN BUTT.

SN 86212. Cal. 45-70. 32″ #3 oct bbl. Fine bladed Rocky Mountain front sight and ladder rear sight. Double set triggers. Shotgun butt. Ebony insert on forend. This rifle is accompanied by a Cody Firearm Museum letter that confirms all features and shows shipment on November 22, 1900. Letter also shows return for repair in 1901, 1902, 1903, and 1905. PROVENANCE: The Timothy Scott Collection. CONDITION: Fine. Bbl retains 90% of orig blue finish with only slight high point wear, a few scratches, and some staining on side flats of bbl. Bore is excellent with very sharp rifling. Receiver retains 80-90% orig blue finish with some staining on right side. Also, a few minor scratch marks. Lever and hammer both retain a generous amount of orig case color finish. Stocks are very good with only a few scratches and dents commensurate with age of rifle.
