Galle sugar bowl has internal decoration of purple and red flame shaped bands rising from the foot against a shaded amber background. Bowl is further decorated with two marquetry flowers rising from the foot one amber colored and one purple, each flower and stem are wheel-carved. Bowl is finished with two applied clear glass handles. Signed on the side with engraved signature “Galle”. SIZE: 7″ from handle to handle. 3-1/4″ t. PROVENANCE: Dr. Mark Jackson Collection.
