DISTLER WINDUP MOTORCYCLE.

A classic Distler motorcycle in very fine to near mint original condition. As is typical of this motorcycle the exposed clockwork/windup mechanism sits at the left rear tire. The lithography is vibrant & bright, even the pony wheels still are vibrant, bright & shiny, and one wonders where the original box is for this toy. It appears that for display purposes, somebody has fabricated a headlight and attached it to the front forks of the motorcycle, as opposed to the small piece of tin that is normally there that rides on the front wheel. This bike is pictured on p. 28 of the book Motos-Jouets by F. Marchand. SIZE: Approx 7-3/4″ l. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carol and Jerry Soling.
