*SPECTACULAR L.C. SMITH PRE-1913 GRADE 5E 12 GAUGE SHOTGUN.SN 206605. Cal. 12 ga. 30″ bbls, 2-3/4″ chambers, IMP/MOD & IMP/MOD chokes. Single front bead, concave matted rib marked “MADE TO ORDER BY THE HUNTER ARMS CO FULTON, NY”. Gold inlaid rib, highly engraved rib extension. Wedding band engraving at both muzzles. Engraved wedges at bbl breeches. Jeweled bbl flats. Clear bbl steel markings on underside. Splinter forend with banjo style release. Forend iron and release both nicely engraved. Ebony wedge at forend tip. Automatic ejectors. Fantastic Grade 5 engraved ejector receiver with nearly full engraving coverage. Left and right sideplates have two dogs in hunting scene vignettes in oval with balance of sideplates covered with rosette and scroll. Breech balls and receiver sides, top and bottom treated to generous scroll and rosette engraving. Top lever and trigger bow heavily engraved. Single selective Hunter One Trigger. Highly figured straight grip buttstock with bold grain and figure. Red solid “Noshoc” pad. LOP 13-5/8″, DAC 1-1/2″, DAH 2-1/2″. Non-automatic safety. CONDITION: Excellent. Bbl finish shows blue turning to brown patina with major thinning at carry area above forend. Bbls are undented and undinged. Bores are bright and unpitted. Receiver engraving is very sharp with slight traces of orig color in very protected areas around breech balls. Balance of receiver is toned to a pleasant silver with traces of color on bottom. Long tang trigger bow retains a pleasing amount of orig blue with typical handling and wear marks. Screws are fine with minor markings. Buttstock and forend exhibit fine wood to metal fit with no evidence of cracking. Checkering has been professionally recut and wood finish has been properly enhanced. Top lever right of center.
