*RARE SPECIAL ORDER WINCHESTER MODEL 1894 DELUXE TAKEDOWN SPORTING RIFLE.

SN 271341. Cal. 30-30. Factory replacement 26″ rnd bbl. Half magazine takedown model. This rifle features a number of special order features including Lyman sights, deluxe oil finished highly figured XXX walnut stocks with Winchester hard rubber buttplate, Winchester pistol grip cap and sling-eyes. Lower tang is marked with assembly #21234 which is also present in the stock mortise. “XO” is also stamped on the tang after assembly #. Accompanied by a Cody Firearms Records verification listing the rifle as .30 cal w/24″ Extra Light bbl, checkered PG stock, 1/2 mag, shotgun butt, takedown and oil finish. Shipped 6-22-1905 and back to factory twice for R & R in 1909 which explains the replacement 26″ bbl, special sights and sling eyes along with the factory refinish. CONDITION: Very Fine as factory restored. Bbl retains 90% blue finish with only high point wear. Parts proof and bbl markings are sharp and crisp. Bore is bright with sharp rifling. Sights are very good. Receiver shows 90% restored blue finish with some high point wear on the bottom forward end. Hammer and lever show 50% dull case colors. Lyman receiver sight retains 90% blue. Stocks are oil finished and fine with sharp checkering and only a few minuscule scratches and bruises overall. Pistol grip cap and hard rubber buttplate are in fine condition.
