OIL ON CANVAS BY SARAH HANLEY.

The focal point of this painting is a large tree that is transitioning from summer to fall with autumnal hues at its crown, ranging from a stunning burnt vermilion to softened golds. Below this crown and seeming to graze the ground are spindly branches, already bare in beautiful juxtaposition to the verdant earth they touch. In the grassy carpet of the foreground and glancing views of the background, one sees the last vestiges of a summer soon to pass. It is only the focal tree that alludes to the fall and winter yet to come. Signed lower right “SEH”. Housed in an appropriate frame. SIZE: Overall 28-1/4″ to 23″ w. CONDITION: Very good with a tiny paint flake in the center of the tree. Frame with craquelure. 48290-1 (1,000-1,500) – Lot 1111
