ALTERED HARPER’S FERRY MODEL 1842 MUSKET. NSN. Cal. .69, 33″ round bbl. Dated 1848 on the lockplate, the tang date has been removed by pitting. Bbl and stock have been shortened and the front band moved to the rear. CONDITION: Bbl has been heavily cleaned but heavy pitting remains at the breech. Wood on the forearm has been sanded and refinished probably during the shortening. Buttstock has been broken completely through the wrist area and this has also been repaired. Lock is good. 4-47345 FS282 (500-800)
