*RARE SPECIAL ORDER FULL NICKEL FINISH WINCHESTER MODEL 1892 SADDLE RING CARBINE WITH GUM WOOD STOCKS IN SADDLE SCABBARD MADE BY MARFA SADDLERY CO.SN 784743. Cal. 25-20. 20″ bbl. Full nickel finish. Straight grained gum wood stocks with carbine butt. Bbl has 2-line address, Cal. mark at breech and “WP” proof in oval. Standard carbine sights. Magazine tube has extra hanger with is correct for this Cal. Receiver has “WP” in oval on ring and standard markings. Stocks are made of gum wood and have a carbine buttplate. Scabbard is marked MARFA SADDLERY CO. MARFA, TEXAS on both sides. PROVENANCE: The Estate of G. W. “Bill” Stewart of Sonora, Texas. CONDITION: Good to very good. Finish suffers from poor storage. Bbl and magazine tube retain 20% orig nickel finish with erosion overall. Sights are good. Markings are clear. Bore is dark with visible rifling. Receiver retains 20% nickel finish with numerous blotches and stains. Hammer and lever are silver-gray patina. Tang marking is clear. SN is clear. Stocks are very good and slightly undersized. Stocks have been cleaned and show minor scratches and dents overall. Some dark stains around tang and buttplate. Buttplate also shows traces of nickel finish with erosion overall. Scabbard is good with heavy wear and crazing overall. Maker’s mark is visible mostly on left side. A very rare model 1892 saddle ring carbine. 49973-15 TEP C&R (1,000-2,000) – Lot 1105
