LOT OF SIX POWDER HORNS. 1) 10-1/4″ plain horn, marked “WA” on the pine plug. Turned mouth with notches around edge. – Light insect damage and some scratching. 2) 11″ plain horn with turned mouth, marked “RMK” on pine plug. – Heavy scratching overall. 3) 11-1/2″ horn with light scrimshaw marked “RB” on the pine plug. There is a star, a powder horn, dogs head and a geometric figure lightly carved on the side. – Bottom is crudely finished, has much flaking. Top has some insect damage and de-lamination around mouth. 4) 12-1/2″ carved horn with dbl. turned mouth. An incised heart inside a raised carved heart is on the top of the horn. Carrying ring is missing. – Heavy insect damage at the base and moderate elsewhere. There is light splitting at mouth. 5) 13″ plain horn with turned mouth. – Very rough around mouth with scratching about 4″ up the horn. 6) 13″ plain horn with turned ring at mouth and built-in carrying pulls. – Generally good, one eye of the carrying loop is broken. 4-47330-129 FS602 (400-600)
