WINCHESTER MODEL 1886 OCTAGON BARREL FULL MAGAZINE SPORTING RIFLE WITH CASE COLORED RECEIVER.

SN 97765. Cal. 40-82 WCF. 26″ Oct bbl full magazine. Blue & case colored finish. Straight grained American walnut stocks. Standard sights. CONDITION: Very good to fine. Bbl and magazine tube retain 80% of their fading blue finish with high point and muzzle wear and few small scratches. One small stain on right side of bbl and some erosion on the right side of magazine tube. Sights are good. Rear sight has been somewhat cleaned. Bore is frosty with strong rifling and some erosion toward the muzzle. Receiver retains 10-20% case color turning a silver-gray patina overall. Receiver has some carry wear. Lever and hammer are silver-gray patina with traces of case color in protected areas. Bolt retains 50% bright blue. Stocks are very good and full-sized with some slight marring and scratching overall. Buttplate shows a silver-gray patina as does the forend cap. A very nice example of a 86 Winchester rifle with a case colored frame in an excellent caliber. 49971-34 TEP (3,000-5,000) – Lot 1068
