WINCHESTER THIRD MODEL 1873 OCTAGON BARREL FULL MAGAZINE RIFLE WITH CRESCENT BUTT.

SN 312877 B. Cal. 38 WCF. 24″ oct bbl, full magazine, blue finish. Straight grained American walnut stocks with crescent butt and steel fore-end cap. Bbl has standard 2-line address in front of rear sight and cal mark at breech end. Standard sights. Receiver is of the stepped variety. Upper tang is marked “Model 1873” with finials. Lower tang has SN stamped behind lever. Elevator is marked .38 cal. Stocks have varnish finish. CONDITION: Good. Bbl and magazine tube are a gray brown finish overall with high-point wear and some staining. Markings are clear. Sights are good. Bore is frosty with visible rifling. Receiver is a gray brown patina with traces of blue finish in protected areas. Left side plate is pitted. Dust cover is pitted. Hammer and lever are a gray brown patina with some roughness. Tang marks are sharp. Elevator has mustard patina with clear mark. Stocks are full sized, have been lightly cleaned and have an old varnish finish. Buttplate is a gray brown patina with light pitting. Fore-end is brown patina. A good honest old 73′ rifle. 50111-22 TEP (750-1,250) – Lot 1049
