TWO FRENCH ENAMELED VASES.1) Large cameo and enameled vase attributed to Mont Joye. Has wheel-carved cameo stems, leaves and flowers of iris. Stems and leaves are gilt while the iris flowers are enameled in shades of lavender and silver, giving the flower petals opalescent qualities. Cameo decoration is set against a clear acid textured background. Unsigned. 2) Mont Joye vase is decorated with purple enameled violets with red and yellow centers having gilt stems and leaves. Sides and back of vase are decorated with random single violets, all set against an acid textured light green glass background. Vase is finish with a flaring ruffled rim with gilt trim. Signed on the underside “Mont Joye”. SIZE: Large 13-7/8″ t. Small 5″ t. PROVENANCE: Dr. Robert LeVere Collection. CONDITION: 1) Shallow flake to edge of foot with some roughness alongside, otherwise very good. 2) Very good to excellent. 49726-48 (900-1,200) – Lot 1044
