*WINCHESTER 3RD MODEL 1873 OCTAGON BARREL FULL MAGAZINE RIFLE WITH CRESCENT BUTT.

SN 580238B. Cal. 38 WCF. 24″ oct bbl, full mag, blue finish, straight grain American walnut stocks. Bbl has standard 2-line address in front of rear sight. Cal is marked at breech end. Standard sights for this model. Receiver is of the stepped variety. Upper tang is marked “Model 1873” over “Winchester” over “Trademark”. SN is stamped on lower tang behind lever. Elevator is stamped “38 Cal”. Stocks are unmarked. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl and mag tube are a plum/brown patina overall with some blue remaining on the protected area of mag tube. Markings are sharp. Bore is frosty with visible rifling. Receiver is a plum/brown patina overall with some erosion on right sideplate and some scratching on left sideplate. Markings are sharp. Elevator marks are sharp. Hammer and lever are a dark blue/brown patina. Stocks are very good and full sized with numerous dents and scratches overall, especially on the left side near the butt. Forend has some dark staining in front of receiver. Buttplate and forend cap are a dark brown patina.
