ROSE WINDOW AND SMALL “HOUSE WITH SLOTTED CHIMNEY”.

The first bank, being petite in size, is of English manufacture with its beautiful original japanned finish and original twist pin. One could easily mistake early English banks for those of American manufacture as the quality of the castings was on par with American iron castings of the same period. A somewhat seldom found bank, especially in America! The second bank, of unknown manufacture, is also petite in size but enormous in appeal along with its detailed castings. Very simplistic in construction, this bank has only five castings and was pinned together, making it difficult for the child to remove his savings. Finished in a black enamel with red highlighting and gilt trims, this bank is also relatively obscure and seldom found. SIZE: Approx 2-1/4″ t and 2-3/4″ t respectively. PROVENANCE: The Estate of Carol and Jerry Soling. CONDITION: First bank is very fine plus. Second bank is fine to very fine. 1-14641-2, 1-14660-2 (1,000-1,500) – Lot 1030
