SMALL FRAME VOLCANIC REPEATING PISTOL WITH TWO PIECE WALNUT GRIPS.SN 1634. Cal .31, 3-1/2″ bbl, blue finish with gun metal receiver. 2-pc American walnut grips. Bbl has 2-line address that reads “New Haven Conn. Patent February 14, 1854”. Receiver has SN stamped on inside surface under left grip. Grips have SN stamped in inside of both sides. CONDITION: Very good. Bbl is a mottled plumb brown patina overall with some high-point wear with a few dents. Bbl mark is sharp. Front sight has been battered flat. Loading gate is jammed. Receiver is a mustard patina overall with sharp edges and some evidence of cleaning in the distant past. Hammer retains considerable case color finish and trigger considerable traces of blue finish. SN is sharp. Grips retain 90% varnish finish with slight mars and scratches overall and high-point wear on the right side. A very nice small frame Volcanic.
