OUTSTANDING AND RARE STERLING TOMATO VINE LADLE BY TIFFANY & COMPANY. Signed on back “Tiffany & Co., Sterling M”. Kidney shaped bowl with a flared rim has shaped handle with high relief tomato vine with large tomatoes against a stippled background. The vine and leaves wrap around to the back of the handle and there is a script three letter monogram. This ladle is considered to be among the most spectacular of Tiffany’s flatware pieces. It comes with its original pink silk lined black box which is marked “Tiffany & Co., New York” and “Ave. Del’Opera 36 Bis Paris”. SPECTACULAR CARVED ALABASTER EAGLE CARVED FLOOR LAMP. Bottom section being a carved multi-piece black and white tall pedestal. Top section having a 19” h standing eagle with snake in talons. Wings are cocked back and the head is angled to the left. Beautifully sculpted and carved in gray and white alabaster. Eagle stands on a rock outcropping with a shaped base. Atop the eagle is a two part round globe in white alabaster with a carved scroll and flower design at the midpoint. Under this globe is a single light bulb fixture. TIFFANY FANCY YELLOW DIAMOND RING. Fantastic Tiffany ring was designed by renowned Tiffany designer Schlumberger. Ring features a center natural fancy intense yellow diamond weighing 2.87ct. Diamond is surrounded by two swirling leaves encrusted with small approx. thirty-six full cut diamonds which are set in 18kt yellow and white gold. Ring is marked with an applied tag on band beneath setting “Tiffany Schlumberger 18k”. Ring band opens at the bottom in order to slide over large knuckles and locks back into place. OUTSTANDING 18K YELLOW GOLD AND MOSAIC ETRUSCAN STYLE NECKLACE. The revivalist necklace is comprised of three different, alternating pendants. The first a 1” bar with coin shaped end which separates each of the mosaic pieces. There are 32, with one extra being used as the clasp. The second numbers 16, and is an elongated triangle with a teardrop shaped mosaic insert. The mosaics are in floral pattern. The last pendants are rounded end rectangles with oval mosaic inserts, and number 15. These are pictorial and include scarabs, birds, Egyptian head, and flying insects. Each of the pendants has a round ball which a fox link chain goes through. Some of the drop pendants are stamped “f.b.” The piece has a tw of approx. 60 dwt. SIZE: 16-1/2”. Base having a nicely carved molded top edge below which are two side by side drawers having lion mask handles with trailing vines. The aesthetic influenced set has carved Egyptian heads at top of posts at each corner. The feet are in a deep carved claw foot. Front and back posts having a rosewood panel with inlaid ivory and mother of pearl. The inlaid mother of pearl shapes include crescent moon, star and other symbols. The settee and armchair covered in a flower decorated re-upholstery. Side chair with a different colored gold upholstery. Possibly the work of Horner or another New York shop. LAVISHLY CARVED WALNUT SIDEBOARD WITH MERMAIDS. Three tier sideboard having outstanding carving. Top crest having opposing seated putti holding a shaped and scrolled shield with mask lion top. The crest stands on a shaped gadroon edged shelf supported by two fully formed 14” putti that stand atop lion figures. Back panel of the second tier has a relief carved panel with a chariot with classical figure being driven by a cherub holding the reins of two seahorses framed with scallop shells and scroll. The sides mounted with opposing 17” mermaids. This sits atop a larger shelf which is supported by four 20” standing putti with a back panel having a grotesque mask and carved leaf and geometric design panel. OUTSTANDING LAVISHLY CARVED WALNUT KNEE HOLE DESK. In two sections. The top section being a fitted gallery with drawers, cubby holes and doors. Bottom section having drawers and two cupboard doors. Top section: Each drawer having a spread wing owl handle with carved flower and vine front. The two central small doors relief carved with putti in different poses. Four 11” full figured putti separate the top section. Below which on the outside is a flat foot with serpent carving. The crest having two seated dragon finials and a central carving of two reclining nude women holding a shield. Bottom Section: Shaped gadroon edged top has three side by side drawers, each fitted with a gaping mouth devil mask and winged dragons. Below are two cupboard doors flanking the knee hole section which has a paneled molded edge interior. The doors are heavily carved with a nude figure holding a spider web and a woman holding a banner. Four 16” classical figures stand atop the four mask covered legs. MAGNIFICENT PAIR OF “84” SILVER FIGURAL CANDELABRAS ATTRIBUTED TO FABERGÉ. This extraordinary pair of three-arm silver figural candelabras are in form of winged putti each supporting a three-pronged candelabra from their arm. The ornamental candelabra arms are sweeping, curved arms decorated with overlapping acanthus type leaves. The curve of each ornamented with a furled round floral rosette. The bobeches, each with a similar leaf-type design on the underside and the candle holders themselves with a repeating damascene-type design. The winged putti themselves are mounted on spheres with one uplifting foot. The sphere itself supported by an ornamental column with overlaying floral design and leaf motif. The bases of the candelabras are a stepped square structure with a square marble attachment on the underside. The silver is done in a matte finish and a similar overlaying leaf design is illustrated on a crystal and silver fruit vase illustrated in the book, “Russian Silver”, by Pycckoe Cepedpo on page 109. Each piece is hallmarked on the square metal base with a series of hallmarks. A rectangular one for K. Fabergé, (Please Note: We attributed this mark to Faberge but do not guarantee them as we so not have adequate expertise on Russian Art) a square one with the assayers mark for 1891, a clipped corner touch mark for the silver purity “84”, a rectangular hallmark for what appears to be the imperial eagle and finally an oval touch mark with the head of a woman. The wings on each of the candelabras also carry similar hallmarks. Russian craftsmen, during the late 19th and early 20th centuries produced some of the finest artistic work in the word. Of particular note were the products produced out of the workshop of the famous Carl Fabergé. While Fabergé is best known for his extraordinary eggs and small figural works of art, he also did, in less abundance, larger more significant objects such as these candelabras. According to the book, “Russian Silver”, Faberge opened a branch in Moscow sometime in 1887, which lasted until 1918 and specialized in the production of “larger silver articles such as plates, dishes, cups, etc. SIZE: 24-1/4”h, bases 4-7/16” square. OUTSTANDING AND RARE STERLING TIFFANY YACHT TROPHY PITCHER. “First Prize for Sloops without Time Allowance Won By GRACIE New York Yacht Club Regatta, June 20th, 1872. This wonderful elaborate handled covered pitcher has a marine motif including an anchor and rope finial, full head mask Neptune at base of handle, rope at shoulder holding oak leaf and acorn wreath around presentation inscription. Pitcher is bulbous shaped with full hinged cover. Marked on base “Tiffany & Co. Union Square 2192 4489”. This mark was used between 1870 – 1875. The New York Yacht Club was organized in 1844 and gave out silver trophies as prizes and is still done to this day. These trophies were often illustrated in the newspapers of the day and were treated seriously as works of art. A similar anchor motif can be seen on the 1878 New York Yacht Club trophy in their collection. The largest collection is housed at the New York Yacht Club and includes forty-two of these annual trophies, half of which were made by Tiffany. TWO LAMINATED CARVED IVORY/BONE LIFE SIZE TANG HORSES. Standing horses identically decorated with an outer covering of decorated ivory/bone pieces. Horses are fitted with a saddle and bridle and body straps which are decorated with pieces of turquoise and carnelian colored buttons. LOUIS XV STYLE INLAID BUREAU PLAT. Magnificent flat top desk has three drawers with heavy ormolu edges and pulls. LARGE ORIENTAL IVORY BOAT WITH FIGURES. Massive ivory boat model having a central mast with three sails. Seven men aboard are carved and affixed to an ivory plank deck. LARGE PAIR OF CARVED IVORY LIDDED JARS. Matched pair of jars having Foo Dog mask handles having green jadeite loose rings. Body with intricate carving of serpent panels inset with small colored beads. Beads include malachite, turquoise, lapis and other semi-precious stones. Bases having some writing. FINE CARVED IVORY LIDDED CASKET. Removable lid and body of the oval casket are pierce carved in a three dimensional scene. The top showing a front grill of trees with the background having a large elephant being attacked by a tiger. Body with similar grill work having a procession of elephants behind. OUTSTANDING LARGE CLOISONNÉ AND COPPER SHIP. Cloisonné parts have a turquoise blue ground with colorful leaf and symbol designs. Ship has a central house with pagoda top and multiple roofs. The front having a large copper dragon head with flag atop. The ship sits atop a carved multi-tier base. PROVENANCE: We have been told that this was exhibited at the Columbian Exposition in 1893. BRONZE OWL LAMP. Wonderful bronze lamp has cast bronze base consisting of two tree trunks with two owls resting on branches. Owls are set with amber glass eyes. Shade is cast bronze with openwork branches and leaves and a silk liner. Base is signed “Tusca” as well as an impressed “K” inside a horseshoe. SIZE: 23-1/2” t. Shade is 12” dia. LOETZ PEACOCK LAMP. Exceptional Loetz lamp features cast bronze base in the shape of a peacock. Tail feathers are set with glass peacock eye cabochons of bright green with blue centers. DIAMOND AND SAPPHIRE 18K WHITE GOLD LADY’S RING. The central oval blue, natural sapphire weighing 5.52ct with dimensions: 10.11 x 7.88 x 7.90 (mm) is surrounded by twenty-four small full cut diamonds melees with eight on the shank. . The sapphire originates from Burma. A GRS gemstone report accompanies the ring stating that the sapphire is Burmese with no indication of thermal treatment. SIZE: Approx 7. FINE SYMPHONION WALNUT TABLETOP DISK MUSIC BOX. Double cone mechanism with serial number “96276” holds an 11-3/4” disk. Hinged cover with walnut veneers has lion head pull and opens with a cover inset with cherub musical print. An inner glass cover with ebonized wood trim. Case with burl walnut veneers and three quarter turned columns at corners. Two side handles. Comes with twelve 11-3/4” disks. PROVENANCE: From a Downeast, Maine Collection. RARE LOCHMANN “ORIGINAL” MUSIC BOX. The mechanism having duplex combs and twelve saucer type bells. Serial Number D884. Housed in an oak veneered case having a single door with pierce carved top grills. Three quarter side columns resting on small turned feet and having a nicely fashioned crest with central convex mirror and carved elements. Crank is present. One disc accompanies music box. MASSIVE CARVED FIGURAL CHINA CABINET. Piece comes apart in sections for easy transportation. Top cornice with blocked corners has a frieze with heavy carving of wind blowers and lion masks with flower and leaf carving. Below which are three doors. Central door having a classical depiction of an artist and putti with book over a fruit an vine cluster with opposing dolphin fish. This door is flanked by two door with beveled edge shape topped glass plates. Bottom panel of each door with a carved grotesque mask. The block corners have 32” tall fully formed Atlas figures with arms out supporting the column top. Underneath is a scroll and water leaf carving. OUTSTANDING GOTHIC STYLE HEAVILY CARVED OAK CENTER TABLE. Molded edge top has cut corners supported by a frieze heavily carved with leaf scrolls and having a scalloped edge with four corner carvings on lion’s heads with brass hanging rings. Trestle base having carved melon type posts supported by four large dolphin fish carvings and round ball feet. A center stretcher has scroll leaf molded design. Last half of the 19th Century. Interesting cabinet has two side by side top drawers, each fitted with heavily carved grape leaf, grape and vine handles over a cabinet with one door having a shelf behind. Cabinet door has a carved scenic panel of duck in marshy landscape. Beside this door is an open area under which is a doored cabinet with panel having deer in landscape. Right side having a carved woman’s head trailing to a paw foot. Shaped pink mottled marble top. All on a carved molded base with carved round feet. Mid to late 19th Century. SENSATIONAL MAJOLICA RORSTRAND PEDESTAL. Square top supported by four scroll corner decorated capital. Inset with four women’s profiles. An overhanging square molding over a long square tapered post. Decorated with colorful flowers and masks. The step base with quatrefoil style plate has four animal paw feet. Majolica type glazing in colors of blue, gold, greens and browns. A large and unusual piece of Rorstrand. Marked “Made in Sweeden Rorstrand” with impressed mark. The Rorstrand factory started in Stockholm in 1926 and has operated in different locations up until recently. PROVENANCE: Purchased at the 1893 World Columbian Exposition held in Chicago. OUTSTANDING PAIR OF MAJOLICA OSTRICH PEDESTALS. Each feature a 26” standing ostrich in full form with up stretched neck and long legs. Brown and white plumage. The bird stands in front of a flared top naturalistic pedestal with green, blue and pink decoration. The dish formed top is in green. Impressed numbers to base, no name. FINE PAIR OF SEVRES TABLE URNS. Each cover signed with the Sevres mark in blue, with “B” inside and “A” below. The tapered urns with deep blue background have oval scenes on one side of courtship of a young man and woman in landscape. The reverse show water scene with houses. LARGE THREE PART SEVRES COVERED URN. The ormolu mounted vase having cast paw feet, decorative scroll mounts on base and handles. The central tapered body totally hand painted in a landscape scene with a figure of a man and woman next to flower garden. The woman holds a basket of flowers and a rose in one hand. The backside, with a sunset water landscape, signed “Poitring”. The top and base in deep blue background with gold decoration. The separate lid has a basket of flame finial. LARGE SEVRES CHARGER WITH BATTLE SCENE SIGNED L. MOREAU. Round large tray has a large scene showing the Victory of Field Marshall Count Maurice de Saxe. He sits atop his white stallion in front of a number of other officer’s standing and on horseback. They look over on a burning city. Signed lower left “L Moreau”. Outside 2” border in deep blue with gold decoration. Back signed with blue Sevres mark “LL” and the scene titled “Bataille de Lassfeps (1747)”. SIZE: 19-3/4” dia. FINE SEVRES COVERED URN. Square base urn with large handles and shaped body has rings of flowers in red and blue with blue bands having gilt decoration. Two loop handles with mask bases, top blue band with ovals of basket of flowers. Marked on base and underneath of top with Sevres mark “V”. SIZE: 15-1/2” h x 8-1/2” at widest. SIGNED TIFFANY FLOOR LAMP. Very unusual naturalistic floor lamp has a five stalk column, each bending at a U-form at top to support a two-part frosted glass flower form shade. Central leaf stalk continues above the lamp arms. There are two exotic bronze birds intertwining the central posts with colorful glass bead plumage. Naturalistic round base is slightly domed and has leaf incised decoration. Lamp was reportedly purchased from a St. Louis, MO hotel which had special ordered it from Tiffany Studios. We have never seen a lamp of this type done by Tiffany, however it is signed on the base “Tiffany Studios New York” and several of the shades are marked “L.C.T.”. This along with the story of the hotel purchase leads us to attribute the lamp to Tiffany. SIZE: 83” t. BOULLE MARQUETRY DECORATED VICTORIAN CABINET. One door cabinet with serpentine front has large tortoise shell panels with boulle brass work decoration. OUTSTANDING CARVED WALNUT/MAHOGANY FIGURE OF COLUMBIA MADE FOR THE SWEDISH PAVILION BUILDING AT THE CHICAGO WORLD’S FAIR OF 1893. This half-life size figure has outstanding carved features including large wings, ruffled dress, hand and facial features, and gilded torch. She stands atop a gilt ball and plinth. Three quarter size nude man holds a small dish raised above head in one hand with the other hand holding bunches of grapes which rest on a small Pan (half goat/half boy). The man wears a grape ivy wreath on head. All presented on a thin square bronze plate base. Accompanying bronze is a conforming oak panel sided and molded wood plinth. Round dial having a white porcelain background with black Roman Numeral numbers with decorative gold fluer di lis and flower swags. Outside border having calendar day numbers which are indicated by a black hand. Brass movement having two key holes and bell strike. Pendulum in a double rocker set with round pendulum and outside circle of clear jewels. As the pendulum moves, so does the outside jewel ring. Brass works unmarked but numbered “126”. Round clock is set in the center of an ormolu mounted blue enameled lyre with eagle head top and floral swags. WONDERFUL DORE BRONZE FRENCH ANNULAR CLOCK. Fine clock has a round globe held up by the three graces. The women are standing on a triangular marble and ormolu mounted base on three tapered feet. BURL WALNUT DUTCH STYLE TWO PART SECRETARY. Bottom desk section has serpentine fall front, two over two drawers having large brass handles. Shaped skirt and two large front carved paw feet. LOUIS XV MARBLE TOP BOMBE COMMODE. The original shaped molded edge top in a gray and white variegated marble sits atop a chest having two long drawers which conform to the bombe design. AFTER MARIUS JEAN ANTONIN MERCIE (French, 1845-1916) DAVID VAINQUEUR. Outstanding life size bronze with dark brown patina shows David after dispatching Goliath with sling and stone approached the fallen giant, unsheathed his sword and severed his head. Mercie has depicted the victor having one foot on Goliath’s gaping head while resheathing his sword. Originally cast in five sizes by Barbedienne and later a life size casting was done by Thiebaut. Mercie won first prize in Rome in 1870 which was a totally nude figure. The later and different sizes incorporated a loin cloth as this one depicts. The base is signed “A + Mercie” and does not carry a foundry mark that we can find. We are not sure of the foundry of this casting or the issue date. PROVENANCE: From a fine Camden, Maine home. LARGE BRONZE MGM LION. Marked “ROSETTA COPYRIGHT 1996 MGMG 2/10”. This lion once resided in the MGM casino entrance foyer in Las Vegas, NV. Golden patina sculptured lion is shown standing on three black marble style steps with the front legs and the top step, right leg on second step and left leg on bottom step. BRONZE AND GLASS ARCHITECTURAL FORM DISPLAY CABINET. 19th/20th Century. Heavy bronze frame having a chrome like finish is square in shape with a pointed glass top roof. Four spiked finials, five glass shelves and glass bottom all resting on four square legs with corner feet. Key is present. SIZE: 61” h x 25-3/4” w x 19-3/4” d. EXTRAORDINARY HANDEL LEADED GLASS LAMP. This unusual and possibly even unique Handel lamp is of a type and format never before seen. This fabulously sculptured figure of Atlas replete with rippling muscles is of a hollow bronze exterior filled with plaster. The base, a heavy bronze disk impressed “HANDEL” supports the figure and emerging from the back of Atlas’ shoulder is a bronze type cap with a single light fixture on which rests this incredible leaded glass globe of the world. The globe, signed on the inner rim “HANDEL” is constructed of both green and slag glass put together to create a unique and distinctive replication of the world. Interestingly enough, to our knowledge and to the knowledge of everyone that we have talked to, no one has ever seen a Handel production of this type before. It is known that in Revi’s Book on page 267 fig. 494, is a hand drawn replication of a lamp pattern patented by Philip J. Handel, design # 40721. In this particular case, it depicts a very similar global sphere of the world. This design patented on June 7, 1910 was believed to be for a proposed painted lamp. It is possible that the lamp may have originally been produced for a special exposition, but the history that we do know of the lamp is as follows: Approximately 25 or 26 years ago a picker who had been in the Springfield, Massachusetts area showed me photos of this very same lamp, telling me that it was Handel. At the time I had never seen anything like this that was Handel and told him that I wasn’t sure. The picker was never successful in acquiring the lamp and around 12 years ago a different picker from the Massachusetts area apparently had stumbled upon the same lamp and sent me photographs, again of this identical lamp. At that time I had sent the photos to a friend of mine, Bob Ogorek who had vast experience in Handel, Tiffany and Pairpoint. Bob felt very strongly that this was Handel from the photographs and if I recall he cited the Revi Book as an indication that Handel had pursued at least part of this idea at one point and time. He explained to me at the time that if he had the lamp in his hands, he could tell me for sure but he was quite certain from the photographs. That picker at that time was never successful in obtaining it from the elderly gentleman who owned it and the lamp went out of sight again until it was recently consigned to us by someone in the Massachusetts area. Their involvement with the lamp had also gone back over 20 years. When they were initially called into a house by the owner, an elderly gentleman, who had placed a great value on the lamp and subsequently it was un-buyable. The consignor was later called into the same Springfield, Massachusetts home, around 8 or 10 years ago and again was unable to consummate a purchase but at that time learned that the lamp had originally been in a bank in Springfield, Massachusetts. The elderly gentleman was unreasonable about selling the lamp and again, no purchase was ever consummated. Within the past few years the elderly owner passed away and his son disposed of the lamp. This is an exciting discovery and we are very pleased to offer this most unique work of art. SIZE: The lamp is approx. 4 1/2′ tall. The diameter of the globe is approx. 18″. CONDITION: When the lamp was purchased, a little over two years ago, it was at that time in the cellar and had been in 18″ of water for awhile. As a result, the lower portion of the legs and the base had become loose and some surface splitting in the bronze type material. The figure was professionally cleaned and the lower portion and base restored also the lamp socket holder on the back was professionally restored. The lamp was rewired. And finally, in addition, one small piece of slag glass was replaced. (we couldn’t possibly tell you where; it was a very good job) Other than this the lamp seems to be very good to excellent condition. 9-71025 (40,000-50,000)

CHAPELLE MULLER FIGURAL LAMP. Extremely fine figural lamp in the form of a pheasant has metal open work body with blown internally decorated amber glass with foil inclusions. Tail, head and legs are all beautifully executed metal works with bird standing on metal base with Art Deco design. Metal base is mounted on gray marble foot. All over Rococo decorated rectangular box has scroll type feet with lady’s figures, scroll and leaf decorations with a central motif of women’s mask and dolphin fish. Top decorated with masks and birds in cages. Mechanisms lever is on the front and in the shape of a spread wing bird. IMPORTANT SILVER KENTUCKY DERBY TROPHY. Covered handled cup sits atop a turned black marble base. Cup marked “Kentucky Derby Jockey Cup Churchill Downs May 6, 1961 Won By Carry Back Jockey John Sellers”. Footed cup has a horseshoe and the handles are hanging swags. Cover adorned with a cast horse and jockey. Cover marked “Sterling”. Carry Back was the little known Florida thoroughbred that in 1961 thrilled race fans in a run for the Turple Crown. Complete Rider introduces you to Carry Back. Born in 1958 at Ocala Stud Farm in Florida and named after a tax loophole, Carry Back was the son of Saggy. Saggy’s claim to fame was that he actually beat the great Citation. This race however was on an “off” day on an “off” track. His dame Joppy had good confirmation but was never really considered great. The 15.1 Carry Back, although determined, never demonstrated any real ability until October of 1960 in the Garden Stakes. This, at the time, was the world’s richest race and Carry Back earned $300,000. This stunning victory would set the stage for the little brown colt on the world’s best at the 87th running of the Kentucky Derby. Out of the gate, Carry Back would take his usual position, which was breaking next to last in the 11th. Jockey John Sellers and Carry Back wouldn’t start their move until well after the turn. Nearly 15 lengths behind this would come to be known as one of the greatest “come from behind” victories in racing history. Coming in first would make Carry Back only the 2nd Florida Bred thoroughbred to win the Kentucky Derby. At the Preakness, Sellers and Carry Back would again put on a race that fans would never forget. In their usual dramatic come from behind position, the team of Sellers and Carry Back would have the fans howling in anticipation. Once again, with a seemingly impossible come from behind position, they would take with wire to win the 2nd jewel of the Triple Crown. At the 1961 Belmont Stakes the atmosphere was electric. Now Carry Back was one face away from going down in history as the first Florida bred horse to win a Triple Crown. But winning the Triple Crown would unfortunately push Carry Back’s sizable racing achievements into an anecdote of racing history. He was, however, the first Florida bred millionaire. As a stud he sired 280 foals and 194 of them were winners who earned more the 5 million dollars. Carry Back dies in Florida at the ripe old age of 25. But, in a strange twist of fate, Carry Back’s status as a winning thoroughbred and his spectacular victory of the Kentucky Derby would again be re-lived by his fans and his Jockey John Sellers some 21 years later. It seems that Sellers’ prize Kentucky Derby trophy had been stolen in a home break-in. It was feared to have been melted down for the silver and never to be seen again. Until one day, over 20 years later, when a friend of Seller’s now 62, called to tell him he thought he’d seen his ’61 Derby trophy on the auction block in the well known internet side eBay. Brother and sister team Sue Novello and Martin Paul had bought it at a reputable auction house a few years earlier and were reselling it. After a visit from the authorities and a brief investigation it turned out to be legitimate. Sue and Martin were thrilled to be giving it back to it’s rightful owner at a special ceremony 21 years later in the winners circle at Churchill Downs where it was original won. MAGNIFICENT LATE 18TH/EARLY 19TH CENTURY BRONZE AND DORE FIGURAL MANTLE CLOCK. Outstanding 19th Century Classical figural clock in three bronze and gold gilt patinas. The subject matter is of a full action gladiator on a horse fighting off a lion. The silk suspension works with an eight-day locking plate strike that strikes on the hour and half hour with a nice pleasant sound. Circa 1830. This is the type of clock that you would see typically having a glass dome cover. PROVENANCE: Part of the Lang Estate auction of Rye, New York sold by James D. Julia, Inc. in 1999. Pendulum present. VACLAW BERNARD SZCZEVLEWSKI (Polish, 1888) THE WHISTLER. Bronze figure of a young boy whistling with hands in his pockets. He stands barefoot wearing a peasant type shirt with shirt underneath which is loosely tucked into his worn and torn pants which are rolled up and tied at the waist by a piece of rope and appears to have patches on the back side. He wears a cap with ball atop. Boy stands on a round base which is signed “V Szczeblewski” and dated “1889”. Based marked “14.M Tiffany & Co.”. SIZE: 16-1/2” overall. OUTSTANDING FIGURAL BRONZE AND HORN CENTERPIECE. Fabulous piece has a black patina man standing on naturalistic stump ground. He holds a horn in one hand and the other hand is raised. In back of him is a stump with an attached 23” long horn with bronze mounts on both ends. Widest end with a heavy ormolu mount decorated with faces and grape clusters. Central part of the horn is mounted with branches and oak leaves. Bronze base having four sets of double hoof feet. SIZE: 22-1/2” h. The lot consists of: 1) 8-1/2” h x 5-1/2” at base covered chalice in solid silver marked “Made in France Amedee Cateland Orf Successeur D’Armand Calliat Lyon”. Chalice is French hallmarked on the rim with the obus mark having maker’s initials “AC” and fineness “950”. Art Deco chalice has decorative stem and bottom to bowl, central ring set with two diamonds. Cover having a circle cross having a central diamond. Gold wash on bottom and marked “8092”. Base has Latin inscription surrounding the top of the base (and the word became flesh and dwelt among us). UNSIGNED (Chinese?, 19th Century?) PAIR OF FOO DOGS. Outstanding pair of bronze sculptures of seated Foo Dogs. The right and left figures show a large seated Foo Dog with small Foo Dog under left paw of one and the other dog with a carved ball under his right paw. Great detail to the roundel curled mane and claws. Plinth base is highly decorated with lotus and key design with incised scroll and coin patterns. Bronze plate base. AMPHORA VASE. Exceptional large Amphora vase has wide shouldered body with long neck in naturalistic design with blue, green, brown and white glaze. Vase is decorated with a farmer and two work horses standing on the wide flaring body. Signed on the underside “Amphora Austria”; with each word within an oval, also signed with a crown mark as well as Imperial Amphora mark also impressed with “4782” as well as “25” and a script letter “G”. PAIR OF GRAPE LAMPS. Wonderful pair of art glass lamps have impressed brass foot leading to three iron stems which are decorated with metal grape leaves, vines and tendrils. Some of the tendrils are attached to blown glass flowers in blue, green and amber. Shades are made up of numerous green and amber teardrop glass beads wired to a metal frame. SIZE: 21” t. TWO GRAPE DECORATED AMPHORA VASE. 1)The tapered pottery vase has four outside leaf supports with clusters of grape and vine on a blue background. Spectacular Loetz lamp has cast bronze base with impressed floral design around foot and ribbed stem which supports two flying dragons with shade holders and shades suspended from their mouths. LOETZ LAMP. Interesting cast bronze base has three paw-foot legs connected by cast garland at the top with a wreath of leaves surrounding the shade which are interspersed with colored light bulbs. VICTOR PAILLARD (French, 1805-1886) THE HORN BLOWERS. Figural group shows a semi-nude woman seated next to a semi-nude man with lion skin draped over leg. They both hold a small horn and look at each other. A cane and hat are on ground. After a bronze by Jean-Jacques Feuchere which bears the signature and the date “1847”. Signed on other side “Victor Paillard, Paris”. Mounted to an octagon shaped wood stepped plinth and comes with an ormolu mounted oval table. SIZE: Bronze is 20-1/2” h; wood base is 7” h. R. MACDONALD (American, 20th Century) THE DANCE. Bronze sculpture of a man and woman in the midst of a dance. Each figure is mounted on a stepped black marble molded edge base. Bronze signed “R. Macdonald 92” and numbered “54/175”. We believe this artist to tbe the same that provided the city of Atlanta, Georgia a large Olympic sculpture for the 1996 Olympic Games. BRONZE FIGURAL LIGHT AFTER ROUSSEAU. The figural scene shows a shirtless blacksmith at his bellows with a hammer and anvil on stump. His hand is moving a bellows which fans the fire below. A light hangs from the top hood. All mounted on a shaped marble base. There is a plaque on the edge “La Veillee Du Forgeron Par Rousseau (Sculptr)”. Bronze is electrified with a cord and switch. COLD PAINTED POLYCHROME BRONZE FIGURAL GROUP. In the form of a Middle Eastern hut with short lean-to roof having scattered hanging carpets with a long carpet backdrop and floor. A cat peers down from the roof at an Arab cross legged next to a tabaret with owl figurine. A gun, sword, shield, treasure chest, horns and large urn are seen on and next to the carpet. DAUM PATE DE VERRE COMPOTE. Impressive Pate de Verre compote has stylized molded base of tree trunks flowing upward with branches supporting the top bowl. On each side on the trunk shows a molded nude woman on one side and a nude man on the reverse. Piece is cast in green glass with frosted finish and mottled pink coloration around the rim. FINE BRONZE FIGURAL INKWELL. Oval inkwell has a scene of a monkey headed cobbler seated working on a shoe with his cobbler’s implements and wares scattered on the ground below. BRONZE DOUBLE INKWELL STAND. Heavy bronze inkwell mounted to a shaped wood base depicts a birds nest with oak branches decorated with acorns and leaves. Naturalistic stump like base has two side inkwells with removable covers. One ironstone inkwell present, the other missing. Central ink reservoir has a two tier leaf top which fastens to an ironstone round block which pushes in to a small side reservoir that has a nut cover.
