DIMINUTIVE BLACK FOREST CARVED LINDEN CUCKOO CLOCK.

Late 19th/early 20th century, Bavaria (modern day southeast Germany). The case with pierced carved oak leaf cresting above the house form case with a molded Roman numeral chapter ring beneath double doors concealing a carved wood bird that sounds the hour, all within a frame simulating natural trees with carved oak leaves. The original pendulum, carved as a tree form disc with central oak leaf. The 8-day brass movement driven by three pine cone shaped iron weights on chains, set within a wood frame. The sounds assisted by two bellows. SIZE: 17-1/2″ h x 13″ w x 7″ d. PROVENANCE: Contents of a lifetime collection “Brook Crossing,” South Pomfret, VT. CONDITION: Clock with original surfaces, now with mellow honey patina. Movement appears intact but in need of adjustment and cleaning. Good overall. 52806-184 (300-500) – Lot 1490
