FINE DUMONTHIER COMBINATION KNIFE AND DOUBLE BARREL PERCUSSION PISTOL.

NSN. Cal. 36. This popular curiosa is made in France, circa 1850 with silver plated brass grip, 8-1/2″ sgl-fullered dagger point blade. The 2 fullers are made to fit 3-1/2″ bbls on either side. A quillon on either side can be pulled and cocked, exposing percussion nipple which also engages a folding trigger. The pistol was fire by pulling trigger once for right side, then trigger automatically re-sets and will fire second chamber. Accompanied by brown leather sheath with silver plated tip. CONDITION: Fine to very fine overall. Blade retains some orig luster, being overall a mottled silver/grey. Grip retains most of its silver plate with dark silver patina in protected areas. Mechanically fine with bright clear bores. Accompanying sheath is sound and supple, apparently of later manufacture. 52552-8 JS (2,000-3,000) – Lot 3426
