FINE BRASS BLUNDERBUSS BARREL FLINTLOCK GREAT COAT PISTOL WITH SPRING BAYONET BY JOVER.

NSN. Cal. .89 at muzzle. 6″ Brass cannon blunderbuss bbl transitions to round from octagonal breech section, stamped with Birmingham proofs. Bbl is fitted with 5″ steel spring bayonet retained by latch on top tang. Small lock with non-waterproof pan, bridled roller frizzen, serpentine cock, and back sliding safety is marked “JOVER”. Furniture is of brass. Trigger guard has raised acorn finial. Plain European walnut stock extends to muzzle flare and has bag grip. Short ramrod with brass tip has steel worm tail. A really neat small sized pistol. CONDITION: Good. Brass is a fine mustard patina after old cleaning. Lock cleaned to silver gray. Stock is fine with most of what appears to be its orig finish. Tang of trigger guard is cracked at screw. Retaining catch for bayonet at muzzle is missing. 52632-13 MGM (3,500-4,500) – Lot 3385
