RARE AND FINE “BROAD ARROW” PROOFED WWII AIR CORPS-USMC V-44 SURVIVAL KNIFE.This is a fine example of a rare, orig Air Corps survival knife with no maker mark, but has British “broad arrow” proof stamped on center of brass cross guard, measuring 14″ overall with 8-7/8″ Bowie blade with black composite grip retained by 3 brass rivets. Knife is accompanied by orig brown leather scabbard with name scratched. PROVENANCE: The collection of Robert Roughton. CONDITION: Very good to fine overall. Blade shows old cleaning and sharpening, overall mottled grey with staining and pitting. Brass cross guard is has one bent quillon and well discerned “broad arrow” proof stamped over “W”.
