*PAIR OF SPREEWERKE PISTOLS WITH HOLSTERS.1) CYQ P38. SN 0670. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl marked “P.38”, “cyq” and SN on left side of slide. Marked on right side of slide “U” and eagle/swastika. Bbl lug marked on left side “U cyq”. Marked on right side “B d”. Matching numbers on slide, frame and bbl. Black grips. This gun is further explained on pgs. 161-162, pictured on p. 163 in The P.38 Pistol, Vol. II by Warren Buxton. “jvd” marked magazine. Accompanied by brown leather pebble grained flap holster marked on back “bla”, “1944”, “P38”. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Fine retaining most of its orig finish with wear on the high points and front grip strap. Very good bore with slight roughness and sharp rifling. Excellent working order. Excellent grips. Holster fine with strong stitching. C&R 2) WALTHER P38. SN 1376. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl. Marked on left side of the FN made slide “P.38”,SN “ac/44”. Post-war Czech arsenal assembly markings on left side of frame and top of bbl, dated 46 on the right trigger web. SN’s on bbl, frame, and slide are matching. Black Bakelite grips. “jvd” marked magazine. Accompanied by black leather clam shell holster marked “BDR 43”, eagle “WaA88”, “P.38” on the back. This gun is explained on pgs. 48-49, and pictured on p. 52 of Warren Buxton’s book The P.38 Pistol, Vol. III. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Fine condition with a majority of orig finish. Markings are all clear. Excellent working order. Excellent bore with sharp rifling. Holster has light scuff marks with solid stitching.
