*RARE LATE WAR WALTHER COMMERCIAL P38 PISTOL WITH HOLSTER.SN 25253. Cal. 9mm. 5″ bbl. Marked “Walther” in banner, “Waffenfabrik Walther. Zella-Mehlis (Thur)/Walther’s Patent Cal. 9 m/m”, “Mod. P38” on left side of slide. Right side of slide with Eagle N commercial proof. Left side of frame with SN and eagle N commercial proof as well. Proof also found on right side of bbl lug. Matching SNs on bbl, frame, and slide. Proper SN range. This gun is described on p. 140, pictured on p. 141 of The P.38 Pistol, Vol. I by Warren Buxton. Magazine marked “P.38v/U”. Brown Bakelite grips. Accompanied by brown leather commercial shoulder holster. PROVENANCE: The Esteemed Collection Of Noted Expert And Author Warren Buxton. CONDITION: Fine retaining most of its orig finish. Thin on sides of the slide and wear on high points and grip strap. Some slight discoloration on left side by markings, also at front of frame on bottom. Excellent working order. Excellent grips. Excellent bore. Markings are clear.
