EARLY PARKER BROS. DH GRADE GAME GUN.SN 83294. Cal 12 ga. 30″ Damascus bbls. 2-5/8″ chambers. Choked Mod/Full. Full length Damascus matted top rib with brass front bead marked “Parker Bros Makers, Meriden, Conn. Damascus Steel”. #2 frame Nickel-plated double triggers, extractors, auto safety. Capped full pistol grip buttstock checkered in standard DH pattern with brass oval engraved “M” and 14″ LOP over solid red Silvers type recoil pad. Splinter forearm checkered in standard D grade pattern with Deeley release and steel tip. Receiver is nicely engraved in early Parker scroll with setter on right, pointer on left and four pheasants on bottom. Weight: 7 lbs 11 oz. PROVENANCE: Forest R. Marshall Collection. CONDITION: Excellent as partially refurbished (bbls and wood only). Bbls are truly exceptional with bold and vivid contrast as restored by the late master gunsmith Dr. Oscar Gaddy. Receiver retains 40% orig case color, shiny on sides and toned toward front of action. Buttstock and forearm have been expertly restored by Gaddy, and are in beautiful blonde and honey color. Trigger guard retains 40% orig high polish blued finish, mostly on bow. Bores are excellent with a ping or two, having been worked on by Dr. Gaddy. Mechanics are crisp, and gun is tight and on face. According to our consignor, this was a first Parker shotgun he ever purchased and the one that sparked his interest in collecting these guns and ultimately inspiring him to found the Parker Gun Collectors Association. 51143-4 JSL (2,500-4,000) – Lot 2355
