FANTASTIC SPECIAL ORDER LEFEVER SHOTGUN OF ABOUT AA QUALITY IN HIGH ORIGINAL CONDITION.

SN 12316. Cal. 10 ga. 32″ finest Damascus bbls. 2-7/8″ chambers. Full length matted top rib with brass front bead. Dbl checkered gold-plated triggers, extractor, safety is currently frozen. Pivot opener. Capped pistol grip buttstock is of very fancy European walnut with gold shield near toe. Buttstock is checkered in fancy four-point pattern with arrows behind locks and very fine (40 lines per inch?) flowing wave panel behind grip which finishes in two perfectly executed scrolls at top near comb. 13-5/8″ LOP over orig checkered horn butt with engraved butt screws. Forearm is near fully checkered in six-point pattern with push button release. At top and bottom of release are well executed scrolls. Top 3″ of forearm in extremely fine pattern with scrolls around three level fancy horn tip. Push button with beautiful floral engraving and Zig-zag border pattern. Receiver is fabulously engraved with pointer and setter in field scene on left, surrounded by acanthus leaf scroll engraving and woodcock in small oval pattern near front of lockplate with floral bust. Bottom rails beautifully floral and oak leaf pattern engraved and bust of acanthus leaf scroll on bottom. Trigger plate fancifully engraved with last Patent of 1890 noted. Right lockplate with pointer pointing and setter honoring, surrounded by flowing acanthus leaf scroll. Small quail at front of lockplate with floral bust. Trigger guard with setter soft-mouthing a fallen quail surrounded by floral scroll pattern. Fences are fabulously carved in cloverleaf and large acorn pattern with carved ellipses on bbls. Top of frame with floral busts engraved behind fences and top lever in fancy floral and heart pattern. Bore diameter: Right .787, Left .787. Bore restriction: Right bbl .022 (Mod), Left bbl .017 (Light Mod). Wall thickness: Right bbl .057, Left bbl .057. Drop at comb: 1-3/4. Drop at heel: 3-7/16. Weight: 10 lbs. 4 oz. CONDITION: Excellent and absolutely splendid for a collector who appreciates totally orig and untouched guns. Receiver retains 65-70% gorgeous light toned orig case color. Bbls are of extremely fine quality, high steel content Damascus, and retain approximately 95% orig finish starting to tone around grip. Buttstock and forearm are excellent, and retain 95% orig finish with scattered light scratches and handling marks toward butt. Horn buttplate with minor flaking at toe, and a small wormhole at top. Bores are bright and shiny with only the most minute of beginning pitting in front of chambers. Mechanics are excellent. Easily one of the nicest pivot opener LeFevers of AA quality known to this cataloger in nearly thirty years of intensive study of these guns.
