TWO EARLY AMERICAN TILT-TOP CANDLESTANDS.

Late 18th early 19th century, New England. The first a Queen Anne mahogany example. The second a provincial Federal maple example with rectangular hinged top with canted corners joined to a swelled ring-turned standard, raised on a tripod spider leg base. SIZE: 1) 2) 26-1/2″ h x 23″ l x 12-3/4″ w. CONDITION: Each candlestand professionally restored and re-polished. The second, at one time had top attached to base with screws; now returned to original functional tilt-top. Two legs re-attached to column now showing filled and polished holes concealing screws used in restoration. 51322-5, 51322-6, (325-450) – Lot 2536
