QUEEN ANNE TRANSITIONAL CARVED MAHOGANY AND GILT WOOD MIRROR.19th century, England. The rectangular mirror plate within a molded gilt surround flanked by gilt foliate carved filets. The scalloped crest with pierce-carved gilt wood foliate device. The scrolled apron similarly shaped flanked by scrolled ears. SIZE: 37″ t x 19-1/2″ w. PROVENANCE: Maralyn Young estate, Arundel/Falmouth, ME, being sold unreserved. CONDITION: Surface has been cleaned. Back of mirror frame is stained. Carved with “LONDON” in block letters. We believe that later staining indicates the probability that this is a later example than the style would indicate. 51412-36 (300-400) – Lot 2288
