VERY RARE PAIR OF LARGE PAINT DECORATED BALLROOM CANDLE SCONCES.

Late 18th early 19th century, American. Rolled sheet iron examples, each with oval back plate with punched dot perimeter, polychrome decorated with floral filled vase on a red slab beneath red swagged drapery with mustard yellow trim on a black ground. Back plate joined to a down-swept folded edge candle arm continuing to a dish shaped drip pan with folded rim candle cups. SIZE: 16″ t x 11-1/4″ w x 7-1/2″ d. CONDITION: With worn original painted surface, one back plate with in use solder reinforcement. Normal and expected oxidation. Good overall. 51331-41 (1,500-3,000) – Lot 2143
